Anthony is a Yorkshire based furniture designer and maker who creates dynamic and engaging furniture.Looking through his website you will be continuously impressed, but the stand out piece for me was Edna - I really want one!

The technical integrity of the pieces is achieved through his years of experience of joinery and creating furniture by hand, understanding the technology and science of his materials and pushing to the limit the stress of woods, ply and plastics. Hand finishing and the closest attention to detail means that each piece looks amazing and performs perfectly.

Bespoke portfolio pieces such as the Edna 1 and 3 are custom made by Anthony to order.Every multicoloured piece has its own unique colour sequence, its DNA, which is authenticated and registered to its new owner. Cabinets, colour sequencing and end panels can all be custom made, using either colours or a range of woods to suit your environment.

They were obsessed with animals and surrealism, but they also wanted it colourful and upbeat. However animals in surreal situations, with human-like attributes can quickly descend into the macabre.

One illustrator, Malika Favre, stood out as being able to achieve their vision; by 'visually translating their collective subconscious' - sexy, edgy and quirky. This was coupled with a logo based on the the font 'Dear John' which complimented her graphic style.

We recently visited the fantastic Gerhard Richter exhibition at Tate Modern This month's wallpaper is clearly inspired by Richter. The image was created entirely in Photoshop using a photograph I took of some peeling paint on a pillar in Ipswich. I did not want it to be a Richter copy, but I did want to capture his skill at layering and blurring digitally. It is testament to his skill as a painter that this was actually very difficult to do. I am pleased with the results of this homage to a great artist. I hope you enjoy it and if you have the opportunity to go to the exhibition you won't be disappointed.
